Help plant a native garden in the Manorhaven Preserve
that will save water, invite butterflies and birds, and support Port Washington's local ecology.
This wonderful hands on experience will be led by two Master Gardeners in Port Washington
Pat Valenti and Francine Frede, along with Rusty Schmidt, President of
The Long Island Native Initiative.

Time: 9am to Noon
Location: Manorhaven Preserve
Manorhaven Preserve parking lot is on Manorhaven Blvd;
entrance just to the right of Port Washington Senior Citizens Center, 80 Manorhaven Blvd.
What you will do?
Help plant 300 native plants under the leadership of Rusty Schmidt and some local Master Gardeners.
What to bring?
Work clothes, a hat, sun screen, bug spray and water.
If you have shovels and rakes please bring those as well!
Can kids help?
Absolutely! But this is not a drop off program, adult supervision is required.
